Cardamom and Honey (Natural Canola Honey) 400g

Canola is a variety of rapeseed. This plant is cultivated mainly for its oil-rich seed. However, canola is ideal habitat and food source for honeybees. In fact, Canola flowers produce a lot of nectar which has a good sugar profile and its abundant pollen offers a good nutritional balance of amino acids, protein and fats. Another peculiar trait of canola honey is that it crystallises quickly. Therefore, we use it as a creamed honey.

What is creamed honey?

Honey naturally wants to solidify. This is a natural process called crystallization. To make creamed honey, liquid honey is spun periodically over a few days. The stirring process interferes with the crystallization, to make very small crystals that have the smooth, sumptuous texture that is perfect as a spread but preserves the goodness of natural honey.

NOTE: there is no cream in creamed honey!
